it would be great to unify the “Youtube” and “youtube” incoming traffic in the Referrer section of the Weekly report email and the Top Sources dashboard widget.
I guess that it is split because we also specify “youtube” as “utm_source” URL query parameter value 😬
thanks for the feedback @Javier Ferrer (CodelyTV)!
and yes, you’re right about the UTM source. if your UTM source was Youtube (exact match to the organic referral name) it would have been merged automatically by us into one entry. see how it works
we plan to introduce the aquisiton channel breakdown report in the future which will then allow us to merge all the UTM tags with organic sources regardless of the case sensitivity. More here: https://feedback.plausible.io/175
Hi Marko, thanks for the quick response. What do you think about making the query parameter values aggregation case-insensitive?
This could seem going too far away, but at least in my case, I could not think about a scenario where I would want to distinct between 2 values that are only “case-different”
we’re now merging all the UTM tags and other sources in the All tab of the Top Sources report regardless of the case sensitivity. we’ve merged all the historical data too
you can still isolate the UTM tagged traffic by using the Campaigns tab in the Top Sources report or by using the Filter button in the top right of your dashboard
next up, we’re working on adding the Channels tab to the Top Sources to make it easier and simpler to report on your traffic by channel. see https://feedback.plausible.io/175
The solution sadly does not tackle https://feedback.plausible.io/463
@Lucas Resch true! i’ve added this specific idea here now https://feedback.plausible.io/483
