Currently, none of the blockers list us as a tracker as far as I’m aware. Our analytics should be much more accurate than Google Analytics, especially when considering that they sample the data as well.
As Plausible grows, it will start appearing on blocking lists. The most convenient solution to this would be to integrate your domain with Plausible on the DNS level. So instead of loading the JS and posting data to the plausible.io domain, you could instead use something like plausible.[yourdomain].com and the requests would be routed to the Plausible servers. Adblockers do not block scripts or POST requests to the same domain that the user is on.
I’m ready to go live with this feature. If you check the settings
page on your Plausible site you will find a new section called Custom domain
. If you want to run Plausible through your own domain, you can click add domain
and follow the instructions.
If the instructions are unclear or something isn’t working, feel free to reach out to me through email at uku@plausible.io.
